Every year, from 1 September to 4 October, Christians around the world celebrate the Season of Creation, a time of prayer, reflection and action for our common home. Bringing together churches and Christian communities from different traditions, the Season of Creation invites us to deepen our relationship with God, with one another, and with the whole of creation.
The theme for the 2026 Season of Creation is “Living Water”, inspired by Ezekiel’s biblical vision (47:9, 12) of water flowing from God’s sanctuary and bringing healing and new life to people and ecosystems. In a world facing mounting environmental and social challenges, the concept of living water serves as a reminder of our collective responsibility to safeguard creation and strive for ecological and social justice.
As Christians inspired by Laudato Si’, we know that care for creation is not only an environmental concern. It is a spiritual calling rooted in gratitude, solidarity, and hope. The Season of Creation offers an opportunity to renew this commitment together through prayer, dialogue and concrete action.
To mark this year’s celebration, ELSiA is pleased to invite everyone to two special events in Brussels.
Season of Creation Mass at the European Parliament

All those with a valid access to the European Parliament are warmly invited to join a celebration of the Eucharist and a moment of prayer for peace, social justice and care for our common home. Held in the Meditation Room of the European Parliament, we will offer a space for reflection and encounter.
Ecumenical prayer and lunch at the Chapel for Europe

ELSiA and partners will also gather at the Chapel for Europe for an ecumenical celebration, held by Rev. Arani Seni, Senior Chaplain at Holy Trinity Brussels. Together, we will pray, reflect and renew our commitment to caring for creation and building a more just and sustainable future.
We warmly invite all friends, partners and supporters in Brussels to join us in celebrating the Season of Creation. Whether through prayer, community action, advocacy or personal reflection, each of us can help the living water of hope, justice and renewal flow into our world.
